Madhya Pradesh Police (MP Police) has invited online applications for permanent recruitment to 679 Band Constable posts (male candidates only), as part of establishing police band units across various districts and police units in state. These positions aim to strengthen ceremonial and official band operations within the department.
The last date to apply is 19-04-2026. The role involves performing band duties, participating in official ceremonies, parades, and departmental events, requiring musical instrument proficiency along with basic police responsibilities.

18 to 33 years (General)

 

Passed 10th / Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized board for UR/OBC/SC candidates.
For ST candidates: Minimum 8th pass or equivalent.
Must have proficiency in playing at least one musical instrument (Band-related instruments).

Candidate must have knowledge/skill in playing at least one below prescribed musical instruments.

Pay Scale: 19500 – 62000 (Level-4) with applicable allowances

Approx monthly pay will be Rs 32000 Initially

Age Conditions:
  • To be eligible to apply, unreserved category candidates must have born between 19-04-1993 to 19-04-2008
  • Upper Age Relaxation
    • SC/ST/OBC (MP Domicile) / State Government employees / Home Guard (MP) / Vikram awardees: 5 years relaxation
    • Ex-servicemen: service period deducted + 3 years relaxation

Mode of Recruitment :

Selection process will consist of the following: a Skill Test (Qualifying), followed by Band Test and Interview.

Skill Test

The Skill Test will be conducted to screen candidates. Candidates will be tested on any one of the instruments from the mandatory list. No marks will be awarded for the Skill Test as it is qualifying in nature.

Band Test

The Band Test will be conducted for a total of 75 marks. The structure of the test is as follows:

Trade Test 60 Marks Candidates will be awarded marks based on playing any one of the instruments from the mandatory instruments list.
Bonus Marks 15 Marks Candidates will be awarded marks based on playing instruments from the additional instruments list. Each instrument will carry 5 bonus marks, up to a maximum of 15 marks.

Interview

Three times the number of vacancies (category-wise) will be shortlisted for the Interview based on cut-off marks in the Band Test. Candidates who qualify in the Band Test will be called for an Interview carrying 25 marks. The interview will assess trade knowledge, skills, experience, personality, and overall suitability.

Final selection will be based on the combined marks obtained in the Band Test and Interview. A waiting list will also be prepared, comprising candidates up to 15% of the total vacancies (up to 102 candidates). This waiting list will remain valid for a period of 1 year.

Fee Structure :

Applicable application fee is to be paid online, along with MP Online portal charges of Rs. 150 (GST extra). The fee structure is as follows:

  • General / UR (Unreserved): ₹500
  • SC / ST / OBC / EWS (MP Domicile Only): ₹250

  5. Submit the form and save application number for future use.
  6. Form correction/edit window will be available until 24-04-2026.
  7. No need to send any hard copy to Madhya Pradesh Police at this stage.
  8. Keep a printed copy of the application form for future reference.
